COVID-19 Update (2022)
Scheduled Monthly Screenings resume this year, subject to Public Health restrictions
The usual Covid 19 Safety requirements will be in place : social distancing, use of face masks and hand sanitiser, record of attendance. From late 2021, vaccination against Covid-19 is an expectation for all members and guests attending screenings at the Ballarat Mechanics' Institute.
Summary of COVIDsafe plan for BFS Events
Before leaving home, please check that you are well.
Please check your email in case we have had to notify you of any cancellations or changes to arrangements for the evening.
Please make sure you have your face mask on before you enter the BMI. As you arrive at the Minerva Space, you will be asked whether you are well and willing to observe the COVID-safe arrangements. While queuing please keep to 1.5 metre social distancing guidelines, and keep your mask on until seated.
In the Minerva Space:
Please ensure that we have your contact details before taking a seat. We will check off your name on our own list, so you won't need to handle pen and paper. Please keep your mask on and avoid touching surfaces on the way. If allowed, we’ll inform you that masks can be removed. Even then, keeping them on is the safest option.
You may sit together with your “bubble”; please stay at least 1.5 metres from other seats in any direction. Chairs are easy to move as needed, and our numbers are always well below the Minerva Space limit of 140 people.
Once seated, we recommend that you keep your mask on, according to public health requirements at the time (we'll be able to advise upon entry). Please stay in your seat as much as possible.
Hand sanitiser will be available upon entry and exit. For toilet use, sanitising and distancing will be required. If you begin feeling unwell, do let us know.
When departing, please be patient and keep to 1.5 metre social distancing guidelines.
Because a number of screenings had to be cancelled in 2021 because of Covid-19 lockdowns, we propose to roll over a proportion of 2021 subscriptions to 2022. However, if you should wish to put your membership on hold or obtain a $25 refund, please email the Secretary Meg Tasker at megovich@hotmail.com or Treasurer Angus McLachlan at mclachlan@ncable.net.au.
Looking forward to seeing you at a screening soon, and cross fingers! looking forward to a less disrupted schedule in 2022.
